Position Summary

The Factory Engineering Manager provide engineering professional and technical leadership in the Factory, ensuring that people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised, and that all engineering activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation/performance

A day in the life of a Factory Engineering Manager
  • Fixed Asset Planning: Ensure optimum decisions are made/implemented regarding factory assets in alignment with the Market Business Strategy.
  • Project Management:  Monitor Capital Investments, ensuring proper use of the project foundations to successfully complete the projects.
  • M&I: Enable high performance Operations, by providing assets' Maintenance according to the Nestlé Strategy, using TPM/PM as the multi-disciplined approach to maintain/improve fixed assets, and AMM to manage their life cycle
  • Industrial Services. Ensure that the utilities' needs of Production are fulfilled and optimized, and that all utilities that come/may come in contact with product are treated according to the food safety acceptance criteria
  • E&A: Ensure that the electrical services, degree of automation and MES at factory site level, are in line with the Business requirements. Coordinate with HQ MES and IS/IT service departments
  • Energy/Water/SHE Management. Ensure optimum and sustainable Operations at factory level, by following the Energy/Water Management approach,  driving the corresponding Reporting System, and respecting SHE policies
  • Process & Packaging Optimization. Drive I&R, initiating/coordinating implementation of new processes/technologies with relevant Market, PTC, Corporate and SBU Engineering

 

What will make you successful
  • Minimum 5 years in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (as Project Engineer or Project Manager, Industrial Services, M&I or E&A/MES Engineer, or equivalent positions)
  • Degree/Diploma in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, E&A, Process, Industrial Engineering, or similar)
  • Participation in a M&I and/or Factory Engineering College(s)
  • Fixed Assets Maintenance responsibilities, including maintenance budget preparation and control (preferably including exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution)
  • Personnel Supervision (on technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties)
  • Preparation of Investment budgets >500kCHF, and acquisition of technical equipments (for Production and/or Industrial Services)
  • Participation in the development of engineering projects >500kCHF, as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies
  • Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and/or production line(s) (preferably including industrial services supply)
